# Install and permissions

Install Refyne and grant only the macOS access its core features need.

## Install Refyne

1. **Download**: When a public build is available, get the signed build from the Refyne download page.

2. **Move to Applications**: Open the download and place Refyne in your Applications folder.

3. **Launch**: Open Refyne from Applications and complete the setup assistant.

## Required permissions

- **Accessibility**: Lets Refyne read the focused field and place the refined result back into it.

- **Input Monitoring**: Lets Refyne detect your global shortcuts while you work in other apps.

- **Microphone**: Required only for voice dictation.

Note: If a permission still appears disabled after you grant it, quit and reopen Refyne, then check System Settings > Privacy & Security.
