## Dictate anywhere

1. **Hold Fn**: Start speaking after the recording overlay appears.

2. **Release**: Refyne transcribes your speech and pastes it into the focused app.

3. **Refine if needed**: Turn on Auto-refine on release, or use the refine shortcut after dictation.

## Local and cloud transcription

- **Local**: Runs on your Mac, works offline, and keeps voice audio on the device.

- **Cloud**: Uses an online transcription service for higher quality. It requires sign-in, internet access, and available plan allowance.

Note: If cloud transcription is unavailable, Refyne only falls back for genuine service availability problems. Sign-in, privacy, plan, and allowance errors are shown clearly.
