Refyne AI / Free browser tool
Build a coding prompt with a clear finish line.
Describe the change, what happens now, what must stay unchanged, and how to check the result. Copy the brief into Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or another coding agent. No account or waitlist is required for this tool.
This manual worksheet runs in your browser. It does not send the text you enter to Refyne or an AI provider. It is separate from the Mac app, which uses cloud AI refinement and is still in private preview.
Get the plain-text template if you use an agent or prefer to work without JavaScript.
Describe the task
Only the requested change is required. Optional sections disappear when left blank. Text stays in this tab and is cleared when you reload.
What should work differently when the agent finishes?
What happens now? Include steps to reproduce a bug when relevant.
Name files, components, or commands you actually know. Leave guesses out.
What must stay unchanged? Include compatibility or design requirements.
How will you confirm the change? Name tests or observable behavior.
Your coding brief
The builder arranges your text under headings. It does not call a model, inspect your repository, or verify the task.
A complete checkout example
This authored example organizes known task facts. It is not a measured model result and does not claim that a rewrite improves every coding task.
Requested change Prevent our Next.js checkout form from submitting until the email field contains a valid email. Current behavior and reproduction Pressing Enter with an empty email field currently submits the form. Relevant context The existing checkout form. Inspect the repository to locate its component and validation. Constraints Preserve the existing error styling. Acceptance checks Test keyboard submission with empty, invalid, and valid email input. Run the web lint and type checks. Working instructions Inspect the relevant code before changing it. If a missing detail changes the scope, ask for clarification. Do not invent file paths, requirements, or test results. Report the changes, checks performed, and any unresolved limits.
When a brief helps
Use it when the agent needs several facts at once: a reproducible bug, a constraint such as preserving desktop layout, or an acceptance check such as keyboard submission. For a small, unambiguous change, a direct sentence may already be enough.
Review every section before submitting. A worksheet cannot resolve missing repository context. Add the files or screenshots your agent needs, and remove requirements that do not apply.
When the Mac app fits
Refyne for macOS captures a supported prompt field, refines its text with AI, and returns the result for review. It also offers selected workspace context and on-device dictation. It requires Apple Silicon and macOS 26 or later; public downloads are not open.
