The Refyne app at refyneit.com
Refyne AI, also called Refyne, helps Mac users prepare instructions for coding agents in the input field where they already work. The official product website is refyneit.com. Refyne combines prompt refinement, selected workspace context, and voice dictation in a native Mac app.
This website describes the Mac app. Products with similar names on browser-extension stores or editor marketplaces should be evaluated using their own publisher and official website; their features and availability do not establish what this app supports.
Who Refyne is for
Refyne fits developers on supported Macs who want to turn rough typed or spoken coding requests into reviewable instructions without moving to a separate prompt editor. A request might describe a bug, a feature, a refactor, or the checks an agent should run.
Check the Mac requirements and supported coding hosts before choosing it. For a short, clear request, writing directly in your coding agent can be enough. For a reusable structure without AI processing, use the free coding brief builder linked below.
Product
Refyne AI (Refyne) at refyneit.com is a Mac-only app that refines instructions for coding agents and returns the result to the original input field.
Availability
Refyne is in private preview. Public downloads and subscriptions are not open. Join the waitlist for availability updates.
Requirements
macOS 26 Tahoe or later and Apple Silicon. Accessibility and Input Monitoring permissions enable text capture and shortcuts. Microphone permission is needed only for voice dictation.
Supported agents
Codex, Claude Code, Antigravity, OpenCode, T3 Code, and Cursor. Terminal capture depends on an identified supported session and the available bridge.
Refine shortcut
Hold Fn + Control to refine the selected text or supported focused prompt field. Review the result before sending it to your coding agent. Shortcuts can be changed in Settings.
Modes
Auto adapts refinement depth to the task. Coding clarifies implementation work. One Shot expands a short request into a more complete task brief.
Workspace context
A connected local workspace can supply relevant files and symbols. File tags can attach matching files. Selected context is filtered for secrets before cloud refinement.
Cloud refinement
Prompt refinement requires an internet connection. Prompts and selected context are sent to the configured cloud provider. The target coding agent changes prompt guidance, not the refinement provider.
Privacy
Local history and on-device voice stay on your Mac. Telemetry and server-side prompt retention are off by default. Quality examples and cloud voice are separate opt-in choices.
Is Refyne AI a prompt improver or a coding agent?
Refyne AI is a prompt improver for coding agents on Mac. It prepares clearer instructions for Codex, Claude Code, Antigravity, OpenCode, T3 Code, and Cursor. Your coding agent still plans, edits files, and runs checks; Refyne refines the request you send it.
Does Refyne work on Windows, Linux, iPhone, or Android?
The Refyne desktop app is Mac-only. It requires Apple Silicon and macOS 26 Tahoe or later. The free coding brief builder on this website works in a browser, but it is a manual worksheet rather than the desktop app's AI refinement.
Can I use Refyne for speech-to-text on Mac?
Yes. Refyne includes on-device voice dictation for speaking coding requests. Local transcription can work offline. Refining the transcript is a separate cloud operation that requires internet access and sends text and selected context to the refinement provider. Refyne is an app, not a speech-to-text API.
What does Refyne change in a coding prompt?
Refyne organizes the requested change, constraints, relevant context, and checks. It returns the refined instruction to the field where you started so you can review it before sending.
Which coding agents does Refyne support?
Refyne supports Codex, Claude Code, Antigravity, OpenCode, T3 Code, and Cursor. Support for terminal input depends on identifying the session and having a compatible capture bridge.
Can I download Refyne now?
Refyne is in private preview. Public downloads and subscriptions are not open yet. Join the waitlist to receive availability updates.
Does prompt refinement run offline?
No. Prompt refinement sends the prompt and selected context to a cloud provider and requires an internet connection. Voice dictation runs on-device by default and can work offline.
Which Mac do I need?
Refyne currently requires macOS 26 Tahoe or later and Apple Silicon. Microphone permission is needed only if you use voice dictation.
